With a solid foundation in well-made knitwear, denim and shirting, the collections combine trusty wardrobe icons with ever-evolving influences from charismatic women and traditional handcraft. Dynamic, diverse yet always true to an original style, the look consistently references military, bohemia and rock ‘n’ roll.
Hunkydory was founded in 1996 by Ulrika and Christopher Bjercke. The couple met during their design studies at Esmod in Paris. Discovering how they both shared a love for premium craftsmanship and a deeply personal aesthetic — the idea of a starting their own brand was born.
The name Hunkydory means ”all is peaceful and relaxed”, an expression made famous through David Bowie’s album of 1971. It pinpoints the exact way you should feel wearing our designs.
I worked with Hunkydory part-time in 2017 by helping them with fittings and measurement lists. Hunkydory was a strong and stable company at the time and I leared a lot about the way the worked with product development. I assisted the Creative Director during fittings and made adjustments and gradings for the prototypes.
